New Year .... New Sounds

As I write this I realize that come tomorrow (Monday) is the last day of the year 2007. Our first show of 2008 will be Wednesday, January the second. It is only appropriate that for the new year we have some new sounds. I am working diligently this weekend to get some new material up.

If you did not hear the debut of their new albums, we will be playing cuts from the Roomful Of Blues and Eric Lindell's new albums. Arjohn and I will be reading some of our New Year's resolutions. In fact, why don't you take a moment and drop us an email at anjATwestpmDOTnet and send us a few of yours. We can read them on the air and discuss them. Of course you can all ways just stop by our chat room during the show and post up a few there also.

Finally I am loading many new albums and cuts so be sure and checkout our Request button and put together your request play list.

Picasso's Car??

Well we were searching for the car that Cracker the Lab was locked in from the Animal Tales Story in tonight's show... Well look at the car as designed (or redesigned) by a Picasso fan...

Santa's Coming!!

For all the kids out there (and the kids in us) I have a link for the Santa Tracker by NORAD. This is an annual fun thing the government does each year around this time. Just go here and click on the Santa Tracker under the Seasonal heading on the Homepage only. On Christmas Eve Day it should start showing radar blips for Santa's sleigh travels around the world.

As quoted from their site:
"This is the 51st year that NORAD and its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) have tracked Santa. The tradition began after a Colorado Springs-based Sears Roebuck & Co. store advertisement for children to call Santa on a special "hotline" included an inadvertently misprinted telephone number. Instead of Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief's operations "hotline." The Director of Operations, Colonel Harry Shoup, received the first "Santa" call on Christmas Eve 1955. Realizing what had happened, Colonel Shoup had his staff check radar data to see if there was any indication of Santa making his way south from the North Pole. Indeed there were signs of Santa and children who called were given an update on Santa's position. Thus, the tradition was born. In 1958, the governments of Canada and the United States decided to create a bi-national air defense command for the North American continent called the North American Air Defense Command. Canada and the U.S. believed they could better defend North America together as a team instead of separately.

The Command carried out its first Santa tracking in 1958 after inheriting the tradition from CONAD. Since that time, Canadian and American men and women who work at NORAD have responded to phone calls from children personally." They have a powerful system called the North Warning System which lets them track Santa as he leaves the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

Apparently, Rudolphs's nose gives off an infrared heat signal that is similar to a missle! Wow! There's a lot of energy in that nose of his! That's what Norad uses to find Santa's sleigh.

Starting November 25th, listen to Christmas music, see photos of Santa from last year, learn more about Norad, and find out more about Santa and his love of cookies on this wonderful site.

Some Stuff. . .

The AnJ Show at Radio.Rexx.com is growing! We now have such niceties as downloads - so you can hear us any old time. We have a chatroom that is always open during our shows (Wed 7-9 Central time & Thurs, 7-9 Central time). In addition, you can look at Now Playing and see what we are playing without having to go the Radio. Rexx home site. Now, we also have Request lines!! Yeah you can request a song (there are rules here kids!) with a click of your mouse.
First, you must be listening to the show (usually about 5 min or so). Then you must pick a song from our list (which will pop up when you click the request button) -- Now, on occasion we have seen an error pop up when there are two versions of the same song. If you get an error on one -- try the other - often it will work.
Then ----- The MAGIC happens!!
The song will pop up on our play list........ And we see it within seconds of you making the requests. Since we believe YOU are the most important person to us -- we usually will slip your request in soon and you will get to hear the music YOU want when YOU want it!

Ain't Technology FUN!?!
